Job Description:

Under direction, the Health Information Management (HIM) operations department. Performs a wide variety of specialized routine and non-routine HIM functions within established standard policies, procedures and processes. Role will also be responsible for Electronic Health Record (EHR) regular analysis and auditing. Performs related duties as required.


HIM experience to include analysis, regulatory monitoring, release of information, vital statistics, scanning, indexing and data analysis and reporting in an EHR environment.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:



Act in an appropriate and professional manner as defined by the company?s Standards of Behavior, Policy and Procedures, and Scope of Services.

? Proficient basic computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint). Current office administrative practices and procedures



? Correct business English, including spelling, grammar and punctuation



? Use independent judgment and initiative within established policies and procedures.



? Establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of individuals from various socioeconomic, ethnic and cultural backgrounds.



? Demonstrated ability to understand the clinical content of a health record, in assigned area of responsibility.



? Knowledge of medical terminology



? Knowledge of HIPAA Privacy act in accordance with release of confidential health information.



? Requires organizational ability and attention to detail, accuracy, multitasking, decisive judgment and ability to work with frequent interruption and minimal supervision.



? Ability to work in a demanding fast paced environment balancing multiple priorities.



? Takes appropriate actions in challenging situations.



? Ability to identify research and prioritize document work types and volumes.



? May need to inquire with appropriate resources to clarify document work types.
